SYNC - A Flexible Infotainment Platform for Global Applications

Integrating a communications platform into a vehicle that extends its software tentacles into the vehicle architecture without affecting normal vehicle operations. This is SYNC. SYNC provides a Microsoft based, flexible platform that is fully embedded into the vehicles electrical architecture.

Having established this platform Ford is successively extending the customer experience of SYNC from the initial goal of entertainment and telephone connectivity to vehicle service features, automatic crash assistance and off-board navigation and guidance services. Ford is engaged globally to address the market and use case differences faced with voice recognition, coupling this to advanced haptic HMI designs.
